Good news today, we’ve added a new member to our list of video providers, aniBOOM! From their site:
aniBoom is a cross-media, cross-platform animation content project which addresses wide audiences through a range of genres, techniques and means.
aniBOOM is definitely going after a great niche in the animation space. There is much talent out there and aniBOOM is a great medium to show off their stuff. To facilitate that they are currently running an aniBOOM Awards 2006 with a $25,000 award to the winner. To learn more about this take a look at the rules. We wish them the best and welcome any new aniBOOM users to TVA.

So we’ve been quite for a while because we’ve been frantically working on our newest functionality, you can now create accounts. The accounts is a new way to be able to show off some of your work, upload your own avatar and keep track of all of you voted videos. Keeping with the spirit of RSS, all of your submitted videos as well as your voted videos are exposed via RSS. We’re still working out some additional features for use with accounts and should be rolling those out soon. Stay tuned.
So what are you waiting for? Get your account now!
Just a quick note. The past couple of days we’ve had a nice up-swing in traffic on TVA due to a couple of videos hitting the homepage of Digg. So here’s a welcome to all our new visitors! Also, I wanted to give a plug to our service provider, WebHost4Life. Not sure what others have experienced with them but they are able to handle all of the traffic we’re getting without even flinching. They have great customer service and at a very reasonable price
. Also please note that we didn’t add a referral link to the WebHost4Life link to make the point that we really are happy with them!

Special thanks to Alex and Revver for mentioning The Video Awards in their blog yesterday. Based off of that shoutout, we have seen a cool upswing of Revver videos posted to TVA. There are many talented folks posting content on Revver and we welcome all our new posters. We’re always looking for feedback so make sure to let us know.
Our most popular video at the moment is the Re-enactment of Foley IM’s. It’s very funny so make sure to check it out.

September has gone by really quick and it’s time to name our winner! Congratulations to the winner as well as the honorable mentions. You can read about them on The Video Awards September Winners page.
Want your video to win in October and get all the fame and fortune which comes along with it? Post it now!
Early on we provided support for Revver and allowed you to partake in the ad revenue sharing program they had. Unfortunately, we had to take it down shortly after because they were still using quicktime and not a flash player. Well good news, they now have flash! So we’re happy to say you can again upload your videos from Revver to TVA. Take a look at our original Revver announcement which discusses the ad revenue sharing a little more clearly.
As usual if you have any issues with posting of videos or have any other suggestions, please do not hesitate to ask.
Thanks!
TVA Team
Wow, this is some interesting news. Jumpcut being only 6 months old has been swallowed by Yahoo!. The news is still new so there isn’t any other details on it. You can see the post on the Yahoo blog and the Jumpcut blog hasn’t made any mention of it yet has a post about it here. I guess we’ll wait to see.
Ryan Carter from Download Squad has written a great article on how you can produce your own video to get your 15 minutes of fame.
…but now I can share my experience with you and the best easy and free ways I found to produce such a video in a day and a half on no budget that looks decent and make customers drool. You don’t need excellent computer skills either, but a little will to learn and a few hours time depending how involved you want this video to be. Take one, marker, action!
Pete at Mashable writes about Motionbox getting funding:
Another video sharing site gets funded: New York startup Motionbox will announce today that they’ve raised $4.2M in Series A funding from Canaan Partners, SAS Investors and ITOCHU Corporation. The cash will be used to build out Motionbox’s technology and for marketing purposes.
That’s great news for Motionbox, but am I missing something or are they lacking the ability to embed these videos on your own site? Not sure how you can possibly distinguish yourself without the ability to spread your videos virally. Not to mention, where’s the RSS?
