Motionbox Gets Funded

Filed under: Video, TheVideoAwards, Motionbox — Dave @ 12:28 pm

Pete at Mashable writes about Motionbox getting funding:

Another video sharing site gets funded: New York startup Motionbox will announce today that they’ve raised $4.2M in Series A funding from Canaan Partners, SAS Investors and ITOCHU Corporation. The cash will be used to build out Motionbox’s technology and for marketing purposes.

That’s great news for Motionbox, but am I missing something or are they lacking the ability to embed these videos on your own site? Not sure how you can possibly distinguish yourself without the ability to spread your videos virally. Not to mention, where’s the RSS?

  1. Looks like Motionbox just added an embedded player. It’s a pretty new site so I guess they’re still adding a lot of features. http://blog.motionbox.com/motionbox/2006/09/deep_tagging_an.html
