We’ve got a bit of a new look for The Video Awards. We’ve streamlined the home page to allow for a quicker download time and a better view of what’s going on. It’s purely a change to the homepage but we would love to hear if you like it better then the pure video layout.
Yahoo! Tech has written a nice article on picking the perfect webcam before you become that internet sensation.
Picking the Perfect Webcam
I’m glad to introduce a new host to our list at TVA. Super Deluxe is a site which was recently brought to our attention and requested to be added (thanks Nick!). The site definitely provides high caliber content and we’re glad they provide the ability to embed their videos.
What is Super Deluxe? Well according to them:
Super Deluxe is the premier spot for top-quality comedy videos. Why? It’s simple. We’ve got some of the funniest peeps in the comedy biz making exclusive clips for us. And unlike other video sharing sites, we specialize in comedy. We’re not concerned with showing you some Norwegian kid’s video blog. In fact, with the free time we have by not paying attention to Hans, we’re able to corral the most original laughs on video online–from the big names of funny to the comic geniuses waiting to be discovered at their day jobs.
Check them out and if you see any videos you think should be added to our voting queue… well then, submit it now!
Boost Your Wi-Fi Connection by NCD Productions. Congrats to our winner. You can read more about them and their video here.
Hurry up and post your video to win April’s award!
An old favorite of ours is vSocial. We’ve had support for their video content from the outset and like their new redesign. So if you’re a fan of vSocial check out this article written by Liz over at NewTeeVee.
Startup vSocial, which sells white-label video-sharing solutions, also has a destination site where it plays with new features. Today, the company launched something kind of cool — a way for users to clip and “quote” pieces of video, adding tags and inline comments.
Over at Mashable, Pete writes about the MySpace Emmy Awards.
MySpace and the National Academy of Television are announcing a partnership today around the Broadband Emmy Awards, a user-generated version of the Emmys. Starting February 1st, video producers and filmmakers can submit their entries at the Emmys’ MySpace page - these will then be judged by experts from the National Academy.
There is a lot of movement around the online video contents and it’s all exciting. There’s so much content being published everyday it’s hard to make sense of them. Hopefully contests such as these will continue to gain popularity including The Video Awards!

If you haven’t visited LiveLeak yet, you should now, plus we are now supporting them! That’s right, you can now post those LiveLeak videos on TVA.
Here’s a small writeup from Mashable

Good news today, we’ve added a new member to our list of video providers, aniBOOM! From their site:
aniBoom is a cross-media, cross-platform animation content project which addresses wide audiences through a range of genres, techniques and means.
aniBOOM is definitely going after a great niche in the animation space. There is much talent out there and aniBOOM is a great medium to show off their stuff. To facilitate that they are currently running an aniBOOM Awards 2006 with a $25,000 award to the winner. To learn more about this take a look at the rules. We wish them the best and welcome any new aniBOOM users to TVA.
