Well we finally got around updating our design. Not much change in the way of interaction, we more just made it easier to look at
. We still support all of your favorite video providers and we’re still adding them. We hope you enjoy this one alittle more.
Thanks, and keep the feedback coming in.

TechCrunch writes about the new technology which GUBA is working on named “Johnny.” Basically it detects copyrighted footage in videos and is able to flag them.
This could really change the online video landscape, if it works. Goodbye Animal Planet clips on YouTube, for one thing.
This is very interesting news on many fronts. But more importantly, just the pure technology of it seems pretty cool. Not sure what the algorithm to detect these images would be but i’m sure it would be an entertaining read (for a computer science guy anyways
)
GUBA Support is now added. There has recently been some great news for GUBA (other than getting supported on thevideoawards
). Warner Brothers has inked a deal to provide video on demand through their site.
Guba will offer two services to users. View-On-Demand (VOD) is priced from $1.79 to $2.99 and affords the user a 24 hour rental. Download-To-Own (DTO) will range from $9.99 to $19.99 for newer titles and allows unlimited viewing on 2 computers and 1 portable device, while allowing a single DVD burn for backup. The service will play content through Windows Media Player on a 640X480 screen. Downloads are progressive and will run up to 1.3MB/second.
Now in addition to the pay stuff they also have the user uploads which definitely has some great content and from their site you can pull down the videos in psp format and even iPod format.
